Moneta At the Showbox at the Market!!!

This band does more than impress they bring the house down. Out of all the bands that I have seen this summer, the most important aspect to anything is how well you play live. If you don’t have a good live show, then you can pretty much assume that your band is not going to get out of the garage.

Moneta

Moneta

For Moneta putting on a live show at a popular venue like the Showbox at the Market proved to be anything but difficult. With lights, smoke and a fucking sweet line up of songs, your sure to be blown away by their show stopping ability.  I could not help but feel the music, the organization of sound was all in unison and if there were any mistakes, who could tell.

The moshing was there, the music was certainly there and they made even the most negative thinkers that this band was for real.

It was very evident this band stole the night, Once again it is all about the music, and I left the showbox with another notch on my music belt with a band that absolutely killed it, Moneta.

So Thank you to Chris who hooked me up with this front row view of a fantastic performance, and one hell of a fucking night.

Cheers,

Corey B…

I finally Got to see my Favorite Child Hood Band… Anti Flag

September 4, 2008 at 8:23 pm (Music Reviews and Pictures) (, , , , , , , , , , , )

Anti Flag

Anti Flag

This is a band that i have been following since their EP came out. I of course was in a stage in my life, Junior High were being the punk skater was the cool thing to do. Hence down with authority, anarchy and all that shit was something that all the punk skater kids all had in common. regardless, this band has grown, and

Anti Flag Chris #2

Anti Flag Chris #2

without a doubt still has that same ass kicking sound they did before. Except now the difference between then and now is they can put on one hell of a fucking show. With Frontman Justin Sane and his strange but amazing voice, he really knows how to get a crowd to erupt into a uncontrollable mosh pit. I of course sat back and watched the mayhem unfold because of the five thousand dollar camera equipment that I had.

So Clearly this band is going places, with eight CD’s under their belt and several hits CD’s like Bright Lights of America from RCA records, this band is sure to bring that show stopping ability to every concert. If punk rawk is what you ern for, then definitely check out Anti Flag.

Cheers,

Ian Moore at Bumbershoot

Ian Moore at Bumbershoot

The First Time that I got to see Ian Moore play was at the Brick in Roslyn Washington. These guys have got it, their amazing mix of sound really brings forth what people look for in a band. I loved every second these guys played because of their ability to put on one hell of a show. Not only that but these are probably one of the most down to earth group of guys I have ever met, they rock hard and only tell the story through their instruments. Rock on Guys

Yes it was raining and traffic was backed up for 3 hours on every conceivable route

Sure it was a muddy venue in the middle of the Muckleshoot Reservation walking distance from where I grew up with rednecks in trailer parks

They closed the bar early

Allow me to repeat that they “closed the bar early

They denied my photo passes and I had to bring my camera in completely disassembled and shoved into areas of my jeans Robert Plant style (“Is that a telephoto or are you just happy to see me“)

But somehow I made it to the front of the stage with (most) of my gear intact and they just threw it the fuck down.

Weird Fishes?

You be the judge…

Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty!!! All Points West

Manhattan Ski Line

This Was the view from Liberty State Park. Saturday was by far the best day out of the weekend. I was unable to attend friday because I was in transit flying jet blue on standby because our flight leaving Sea-tac airport was cancled on Thursday. However, once I got to this gigantic City it was probably one of the most exciting things In my life, I got to feel like a star with VIP pases to all three days and being able to take pictures of anything and everything that I want.

Being this Close to the Statue of Liberty while listening to great music Is something to behold.

If you have not seen this 6th wonder of the wolrd band, make some time. Thom Yorke has the equivalent to a perfect pitch voice. I was not that familiar with his music tell I got to see him two days in a row at this amazing festival. His photo passes were so locked up that only one of Citizen Images photographers was able to get pictures of this coveted band, Piper Carr. Check his pictures out at his Flickr site.

Up and comers!!! Paris Spleen

August 17, 2008 at 11:59 pm (Music Reviews and Pictures) (, , , , , , , )

Paris Spleen

Paris Spleen

Paris Spleen, the first band to hit the stage at the High Dive in Freemont. They are anything but a mismatched music group; their sound was a collaborated unity of sound that left you wanting more. Their ability to feed off the power off the Stratocaster guitar was an impressive feet. The solos were filled with soul and power, it made a guitar seem like it was effortless to play. The connection each member had with one another was one to be heard; I had nothing but a good feeling as the last song rang out. Great job to Paris Spleen, they were a pleasure to listen to, and we should hear more from them soon…

Cheers,

Corey B…
